To be your own brand

During the Winter of 2007 I opened an art gallery in Laguna Beach. It was located in a beautiful but expensive building. I added great shoes to the inventory. Thus the gallery became known as High Art Shoes/Assunta Fox Gallery. We sold enough shoes to cover our expenses and even sold some major art pieces but the location did not produce enough revenue to go beyond expense as we learned quickly. So when another entrepreneur wanted to take over my lease I accepted. Since then I have been busy focussing on my own art. Expanding my techniques. My mixed media photo has now evolved into what I call Mixed Process Art. This technique is a layering of different applications of paint, print, photo, glaze and drawing. It is so tactile, inspiring and intellectually stimulating. The process is so involved and reminds me of a science project put together for a science exhibit. I have had several shows in which this art has been a focus. My next major exhibit for which I am working will be at the James Gray Gallery in Santa Monica during the month of May.
